Adoptive Parent Services
- Consult on adoption process.
- Complete S.A.F.E. homestudy required for domestic & international adoptions.
- Review child proposals.
- Support and counsel during post placement period.
- Complete post placement reports for domestic and international adoption.
- Refer to agencies and licensees for domestic and international adoption.
- Liaise with adoption agency, licensee, and government.
- Refer to community and professional support services as needed.
Birth Parent Services for Domestic Adoptions*
- Counsel birth parents and birth family members prior to placement.
- Assist birth parents with preparation of social and medical histories.
- Present adoptive family profiles to birth parents.
- Accompany birth parents to meet adoptive family.
- Facilitate entrustment ceremony.
- Counsel birth parents during the post placement period.
- Liaise with community support services following post placement period
* NOTE: Paid by adoptive parents in accordance with section 175 of the Child & Family Services Act, R.S.O., 1990

- H.S.T. apply to all fees and office disbursements will be added.
- Adoption expenses are tax deductible up to a maximum (click here for further information).
- As of September 26, 2012, counselling services provided by a Registered Social Worker (R.S.W.) can be claimed as a medical expense tax deduction when you file your income tax return (click here for further information).
- The Adoption Source services are provided by a Registered Social Worker (R.S.W.) which may be covered by some private health insurance plans (click here for details).
